Wedding Wednesday: Signature Cocktails

September 16, 2015

There are some wedding trends which I’m not a fan of (Choreographed dance routines…) but signature cocktails certainly get my seal of approval. A cute and quirky way to add a bit of personality to your wedding, switching things up a little can help make your day that little bit more memorable.

Gin & tonics are one of my favourite summer tipples, and feeling particularly inspired by some beautiful cherries and a bottle of Tanqueray, I matched the two to make something a little bit different but very tasty.

I simply muddled the Tanqueray with some Morello cherry jam, topping up with tonic water and some fresh fruit. Just as refreshing as a classic G&T, the jam add an extra level of syrupy sweetness without becoming sickly.

Depending on the time of year you’re getting married you could switch around the berries to those in season. We’re getting married in December so we could twist the recipe to make the most of wintery blackberries or festive cranberries.

As always in this day and age you can’t plan a wedding without Pinterest, and I’ve been browsing some thirst-inducing signature cocktail recipes. Why not have a browse through?
