It feels like we’ve been on the cusp of moving for months now, to-ing and fro-ing between our solicitors and our seller, but there is light at the end of the tunnel….the big move is less than two weeks away.
It’s been almost six months since our offer was accepted, and since that day my mind has been whirring, plotting and planning how we’ll turn our new house into a home. Our first chance to make the cottage truly ours, it feels like all the clichés are coming true, I’m about to stretch my wings, put my stamp on a property and throw down some roots.
Throughout this torturous wait I’ve been not so patiently pacing the internet, seeking inspiration from interiors blogs across the web. Now, with the end in sight, it only seems right to share my sources and thank them for their words of wisdom.
Simply and beautifully styled, the Inman’s family blog makes bright and fresh interiors look easy. Prints are effortlessly entwined, with expertly curated florals peeking through perfect pastel palettes.
As previously mentioned my tastes are minimal, but Emily and Rob’s swoon worthy home has encouraged me to be braver, and I’ll be introducing a few patterns into each and every room.
It’s no secret that our dogs make a mockery of my interior design aspirations, chucking cushions on the floor and deciding that our recently acquired snuggle seat is automatically their new basket, so it’s comforting to see how beautiful Emma’s family home is complete with their furry friend.
Rustic and charming, the exposed brickwork is picture perfect and accessorised to perfection. We are lucky to have some stunning period features in our new property and taking inspiration from Life at the Little Wood we’ll be striving to bring out the best in them.
More often than not retailer’s blogs come across as one big advert, pushing products at every opportunity, but for me Laura Ashley strike the balance perfectly. Aspirational rather than advertorial, their blog is filled with great craft ideas, beautiful visuals, trend advice and blogger features.
Just my cup of tea, if I ever have ten minutes to fill I’ll whisk myself away to their world and flick through their latest posts. Not too often though, I don’t think my bank balance could take the temptation. You won’t be surprised to know that there are more than a few Laura Ashley pieces destined for our new home…
