Home Fragrance: Creations by Bolsius

July 25, 2016

Since having dogs I’ve been preoccupied with the scent of our home, worrying what visitors think and questioning how welcoming our home is. Let’s face it, no one wants to walk through the door and be hit with the scent of smelly spaniel.

We keep on top of our cleaning, regularly air out the house (Weather permitting of course) and keep scented candles on hand for when guests visit. Our pups also have frequent baths and the odd spritz of doggy deodorant here and there.

Despite all this I still remain a little bit paranoid, and our dogs face regular sniff tests to check pass my stringent scent guidelines.

So with my home fragrance obsession in mind I was happy to hear from Bolsius, who had a new range of beautifully scented wax melts to share.

A die-hard candle fan, I wasn’t sure that a little burner and few discs of wax could quite compare, but I was willing to give it a go…

My little set arrived, a burner accompanied by six creations fragrances. Including scents such as green apple, sandalwood and mango to choose from.

Each little disk is segmented, and easily snapped into six chips. You can then either opt all in for one fragrance, follow the recipes provided or go create your own.

The set comes with recipes, highlighting how the chips can complement each other and help set a mood. I decided to try out the ‘Happy’ mix, combining several fruity scents.

Once lit the chips quickly melted and mixed together, creating a scent which filled the room and then filtered through into the remainder of our cottage. Even lingering for an hour after the tea light had burnt out.

The scent wasn’t overpowering, and it’s safe to say our home quickly smelt very lovely and not at all dog-like, perfect for when visitors come around.

While I won’t be chucking out my candles yet, there is certainly room in our lounge for this little burner.

Disclaimer: I was sent the Bolsius Creations set and asked for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to say nice things about it, but having liked it so much there was nothing bad to say.
