#TrendsdayWednesday: GBBO

September 14, 2016

We’re a few weeks in and Great British Bake Off fever has gripped the nation once more. With a move to channel four looking inevitable, this could be the last series as we know it.

Pretty pastels, cake stands and a bunting decked tent, the look and feel of the bake off has retained its vintage charm throughout all seven series.

Inspiring budding bakers everywhere, we’ve embraced the kitsch nostalgia from the very first episode, and our homes have changed because of it. KitchenAid mixers are now commonplace, and our cupboards are full of cake tins of all shapes and sizes.

Not stopping there, bake off mania has transcended the kitchen, filtering through to home accessories.

Here are a few top picks for anyone wanting to pay homage to the GBBO tent in their own home –

Raspberry Jelly & Cake cushion | Tea Cake Print |Bake Lit Sign

These cute and quirky accessories are the perfect way to add a touch of Mary Berry magic without going completely overboard. A nod here and there is the perfect way to embrace a trend, and these pieces in particular would make for a very charming home office. Particularly if you happened to run a cupcake business….

Without a doubt one of the best parts of baking is filling your home with the scent of fresh out the oven treats, so this trend wouldn’t be complete without a little something to keep the house smelling sweet.

Yankee Candle Macaron Treats

This is something Yankee Candles are well known for, and their Macaron Treats scent is perfect for patisserie fans everywhere.

Known for being a particularly tricky bake, lighting this candle is an easy way to re-create the scent of freshly baked Macarons, without all the hassle. Notes of almond and vanilla are strong with this scent, perfect if you’ve got a sweet tooth.

We’re not even half way through the series, so there is still plenty of bake off fun to be had. Good luck to the contestants, and fingers crossed that no one suffers a soggy bottom!
