As soon as we announced the news of our baby being on the way we were told about the legendary Aldi Baby & Toddler events, urged to keep our eyes peeled for them. The perfect opportunity to stock up on essentials, it’s safe to say after a quick trip we are more prepared for the coming months.
Mentioned in our latest update, we’re looking ahead to the next few months of our baby boy’s life, which will see him reach the six-month mark. Weaning and sleeping in his own room lie ahead, and as always, we’re trying to get organised ahead of schedule.
With a high-chair ready and waiting, we’re going to need bowls and spoons, and this Nuby suction set looks just the job. After reading up (and quickly realising this is a subject of much debate) we’re going to opt for a mix of purees and baby led weaning at six months. Hoping for the best of both worlds, we’re planning to firmly sit on the fence on this one. To make sure we’re ready, we’ve picked up a few different stage 1 purées, letting Harry get to grip with different flavours. I’ve heard good things about the Aldi’s baby food range, so we’re looking forward to giving this a go.
We’re hoping to seamlessly transition him into his own room (Haha wishful thinking) so I couldn’t help but pick up this cot bed fitted sheet. It’s so soft and the perfect shade of yellow to match our nursery décor.
During car journeys, I’m currently sitting in the back with our baby boy, and as nice as it is to keep such a close eye on him, my husband is starting to feel a little lonely in the front. As fun as the chauffeur jokes are, we’ve been looking for a backseat mirror for some time now. The majority we’ve seen have been quite flimsy with a warped mirror, so the one we found in the Baby & Toddler is an absolute bargain. Just £9.99 it’s sturdy, and clips firmly around the headrest. We can now see our baby boy easily from the front of the car, with no worries the mirror might drop on his head.
As well as the special purchases above, we also stocked up on nappies and wipes. We’ve found the Aldi nappies are just as good as the more premium brands for half the price, and the wipes are great value too.
All in all we were really impressed with the Baby and Toddler event, and it came at just the right time for us, just ahead of Harry reaching six months. There were plenty more products we had our eye on for the toddler years, but with storage at a premium we’ll be keeping an eye out for future events to purchase them.
The event continues this week, so there is still time to stock up on some bargains!
