It’s no secret that I love subscription boxes, and over the last couple of years we’ve tried out Distraction Box, Bake Box and Marley spoon to name a few. So when Crafty Creatives got in touch to see if we’d like to try out their monthly craft kits, I was more than happy to give it a go.
Described as subscription boxes for creative people, I was looking forward to finding out what was in my first box and I wasn’t disappointed. The content of each Crafty Creatives box is a closely guarded secret, and I was over the moon opening the box to discover this month’s project.
On closer examination, it’s safe to say the contents far exceeded my expectations. Included in the box were all the supplies needed to make a cute autumnal woodland garland, as well as detailed instructions to help you bring the project to life.
Amazing quality, I still can’t believe the box would cost just £15 plus P&P. Having a browse on Etsy, a similar garland would easily cost over £40.
With plenty of supplies included, I didn’t have to worry about the odd mistake here and there, perfect for a felt craft beginner.
While it wasn’t a quick craft, I really enjoyed taking some time out a couple of evenings a week, creating a little critter while catching up on my favourite box-sets. Despite having never crafted with felt before, I found the instructions easy to follow, and over the month my project quickly came to life.
Once complete, I hung the garland above our log fire, and it’s been lovely to have something seasonal to show off. We don’t go over-board for Halloween, so it’s particularly nice to have something that isn’t spooky to decorate our home with.
I can see us bringing our garland back out every year, and as our little one gets older, I’m sure he’ll become familiar with each felt forest animal… perhaps even picking a favourite.
Over the month I feel like I’ve picked up a new skill, and I’d absolutely recommend trying out Crafty Creatives. Keen to try out more, I’m intrigued to see what boxes they have coming up. You can have a nosey at some of their past boxes here.
