Stocking fillers for tired Mums

November 22, 2017

Ask any new mother what she’d like for Christmas, and if she’s anything like me she’d probably just like a few hours to herself. Uninterrupted time, to watch a film, read a magazine, or to even just get some extra shut eye.

In need of some pampering, I’d spend that time relaxing in the bath with a good book, plenty of bubbles and unlimited hot water.

I’ve found the ideal products to accompany time spent unwinding in the tub, for anyone struggling to choose stocking fillers for a sleep deprived mum.

For me, lighting a candle is the perfect way to get in the right frame of mind for relaxation, and Amphora Aromatic scents are blended to enhance wellbeing. All natural and clean-burning, lighting their clementine candle instantly transforms our family bathroom into a more serene sanctuary.

Last year I mentioned how citrus scents are a firm favourite of mine, and this Amphora Aromatic candle certainly smells of festive clementines – perfect for the lead up to Christmas.

To scent the water itself, you really can’t get more seasonal than frankincense. Dissolved in hot water, just a scoop of Dead Sea bath salts can help relax both the mind and body. Featuring therapeutic minerals, along with aromatherapy oils and rose petals, you can pick up a tub in Boots or on

Of course, you won’t go far wrong with chocolate, and these Mint thins from Divine aren’t just for after dinner. Along with dark chocolate covered caramelised nuts, they are the perfect pairing to accompany your hot drink of choice.

Stepping out the bath isn’t where the pampering should end, and making sure you’re well moisturised will ensure you feel good when you get woken up the next morning (Whatever time that may be….)

Promising to deliver real results, Skin Doctor potent Vit. C ampoules are the perfect tonic for tired skin. Smoothing, softening and conditioning skin, the little pods brighten skin to fight the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I’ve been using the day and night ampoules for a couple of weeks now, and I can see an improvement in my skin. With a six-month-old limiting my sleep levels, they’ve had a real challenge to contend with!

Since our baby boy arrived, my hands have really suffered. I’ve developed sore patches of eczema, and washing up and sterilising really irritates them. The colder weather really isn’t helping, so I’ve been trying all sorts of creams and balms to try and clear it up.

Up to now I haven’t had much success, but since trying out the Working Hands jar from O’Keeffe’s Hardworking Skincare Multipack my eczema has definitely improved. Also available from Boots, this set would be a great gift for anyone who battles with the elements. A keen gardener, this would also be ideal for my tricky to buy for Dad.

I find taking time to recharge and relax makes the next day easier to face, however early it may start. A hot bath helps me to make the most of the sleep I do get, making it easier to doze off, encouraging a deeper sleep.

A very safe bet, any gifts that help a new mum relax will definitely be very welcome this Christmas!
