Our baby’s first Easter

Our baby’s first Easter

When you have a baby, every first is exciting, but I have to say I’ve been looking forward to Easter for some time. Not put off by the recent snowy weather, I’m hopelessly optimistic that the sun will start shining, and we’ll soon be enjoying sunny walks and afternoons in the garden.

As mentioned in this morning’s post about our easy Easter breakfast, we’re hoping to squeeze in as much family time as we can this weekend, soaking up the last of our little one’s baby days.

Now Harry is napping in his cot, I feel like I have so much more time to put together little surprises for him. So to celebrate Easter and all things spring, I’ve collected some old favourites and a few new bits and bobs, to put together a themed activity bag for him.

With plenty of room for lots of toys, I’ve used this gorgeous personalised cotton drawstring bag from Match Set Love. A nursery essential, it’s ‘Super Bunny’ emblem makes it the perfect fit our baby’s first Easter.

While Harry can empty a basket in seconds, a bag is a bit more of a challenge for our little explorer. So it’s an ideal way to challenge him, keeping him busy for a few minutes at least…hopefully long enough for me to have a coffee and some Easter egg (Fingers crossed!)

At this age, Harry is just as happy with old toys as new, especially if they are presented to him in a different way. His Bright Starts Put N’ Shake Eggs are a firm favourite, and I think we’ll be reading through his Peter Rabbit book together for many years to come. His Jellycat bunny was a really special gift from Jess (Her blog is amazing, I can’t recommend it highly enough), and was the first gift we opened when we brought him home from the hospital.

As a little extra, we got our baby boy a copy of ‘That’s not my bunny’ and some plastic eggs that we can fill with a few bits for him o nibble on. He hasn’t had his first taste of chocolate yet, so I think a little at Easter will be a lovely treat for him.

All in all, a themed activity bag like this can be on a budget, recycling what you already have ready and waiting in the toybox.

We’ll be reusing our ‘Super Bunny’ bag for years to come, filling it with surprises for special occasions, or even a rainy day when we’re at a loose end.

Having only recently discovered Match Set Love, I’m so impressed with their range. Everything came beautifully packaged, and I’ve got a couple more pieces to share with you that I’m really excited about. You can currently get 20% off your first order by signing up to their newsletter via this link.
