Tried and tested Christmas Candles for 2019

December 13, 2018

There is no use denying it, I’m a candle addict. I have them lit all year round, but there is something extra special about festive scents and a cosy evening ahead once they are burning.

I’ve tried and tested some special candles this week, perfect for the festive season ahead, as gifts, or of course a treat for your own home!

Vineyard Candles

Refreshing with citrus notes, this G&T scented candle from Prezzybox is perfect for lighting through the day. A great antidote to those feelings of Christmas excess!

The ultimate in upcycling, the candle itself is made from re-purposed wine bottle. With 80 hours of burn time, it’s a long-lasting candle to see you through to the New Year. It’s safe to say this would make a lovely gift for any gin and tonic lover!

Sanctuary Spa Candles

I love Christmas scents, but I always think it’s nice to have them in colours other than green and red, so the Sanctuary range is perfect for picky customers like me. Once Christmas is out the way I’m always ready to go back to a colour co-ordinated room, but it’s nice to continue using candles through the remaining winter months.

Their luxury oud candle looks very sophisticated in our new bathroom, and the scent is the perfect when partnered with a relaxing bath.

Described as ‘An intensely indulgent floral oud fragrance with hints of golden saffron top notes & a white floral and rose heart’ it’s a nice alternative for those who aren’t keen on the cinnamon spice scents of Christmas.

Yankee Candle

Incredibly popular all year round, I’m yet to find a Yankee Candle I haven’t liked. Last year’s Christmas range was the perfect fit for our cosy cottage, so I was intrigued to see if their new offering was just as much to my tastes.

These little jars are the perfect stocking filler, and the classic Christmas scents are ideal for the entire festive period. Frosty gingerbread is no exception, and the fragrance certainly evokes an afternoon spent baking.

New for this year, I was intrigued to see the new range represents a slight departure from the usual Yankee Candle jar.

Each candle from the ‘Elevation collection’ has a gold lid which also acts as a base, matching our gold and red Christmas décor perfectly. The scent itself is everything you’d expect from Yankee Candle at Christmas.

Amaretto Apple smells as delicious as it sounds, an iconic cosy winter fragrance. It would be a lovely gift, but I’m pretty sure it’s one I’d selfishly end up keeping myself… perhaps buy two, just to avoid temptation!

I think I’ve found a candle for every occasion in that little round-up, hopefully helping you sort out any last minute Christmas candle emergencies! Which are definitely a real thing for any sceptics out there…
