Life in January: A sale, snow and slow days

February 1, 2019

Well, for a month where we didn’t have much planned, we’ve certainly ended up with a bit of an eventful January…

We had an offer on our house!

A few weeks into the year we sold our house, and it’s been a whirlwind since then. We weren’t at all prepared, and we had to quickly assemble all the documents we needed and decide on a solicitor! We were so focused on making sure the house was clean and tidy for viewings, that we didn’t think what the next steps might be.

Our buyer is eager for a quick sale, so we’ve had to start thinking about packing already! I’ve been de-cluttering room by room, so hopefully we’ll have less boxes to pack!

Making the most of slow days

With life so busy, I’m being careful to make sure we can still have slow days at home when we can. We have such a busy few months ahead, that I think it’s important to enjoy a restful day here and there.

Harry tends to just potter round for the morning, playing with his toys, and I can spend an hour or so de-cluttering and getting organised. In the afternoon we go for a little walk or visit the playground, but that’s all.

I’m sure I’ll miss our slow days together when Harry grows up and starts school, so I’m trying to appreciate them now while I can!

Snowed in

Our village has spent this week looking particularly picturesque, covered in a blanket of snow. We’ve been sledging and built snowmen, making the most of all the fun the frost brings. Harry has seen snow before, but this is the first time he’s been able to toddle around in it.

January has been the start to the year we really needed! After a poorly Christmas, we’ve all been fit and healthy, thank goodness! Selling our house has meant an end to viewings, and we’ve been able to spend quality time together at the weekends instead.

We have a busy February ahead, and hopefully we might have some potential new homes to view! 2019 is definitely shaping up to be an exciting year!
