After years of scrimping and saving we finally bought our first home, a small cottage in a little village between Bolton and Blackburn.

Starting from scratch we’re redecorating from top to bottom, embracing the opportunity to make a property truly our own (Albeit on a budget…)

So far we’ve transformed our lounge, made over the bathroom and got to grips with our garden. We’ve also taken on a few smaller projects, turning a chest of drawers from shabby to chic and upcycled a much longed for dressing table.

We’ve also had the chance to get to know a number of brands a little better, Homesense, Buyagift and Victoria Egg to name just a few.

Over the next few years we’ll be continuing with our renovations, re-fitting the kitchen and hopefully converting our loft into a much needed extra room. With a small property space is always sought after, so we’ll be making the most of any opportunity to add a little storage wherever we can.

At the moment though we’re simply happy to be home at last. Recently married, we’re getting used to facing challenges as husband and wife, with a spot of DIY or decorating on the agenda most weekends.

We also share our home with our two little dogs, Polly and Ruby, who have zero respect for interior design. To them cushions are chew toys and muddy paw prints regularly cover our rugs… we wouldn’t be without them though.
